Dow Rummel provides a safe and secure campus that meets the ever-changing needs of its population.  As we strive to continue fulfilling this commitment to our residents, we find two areas of focus: Program and Resident Activity Support and Living and Working Environmental Enhancements that will need additional support. 

Program and Resident Activity Support:

• Dow Rummel In-House Channel
• Endowment/Grant Fund
• NuStep
• Program equipment needs

Living and Working Environment Enhancements:

• Maintenance/Groundskeeping needs
• Training for Memory Care Staff (Alzheimer's/Dementia Unit)

Ways in which to Contribute
Dow Rummel Village is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and all gifts and contributions directed to Dow Rummel are tax-deductible within IRS regulations. We know that a campaign of this magnitude will require the thoughtful help and consideration of the many friends and family of Dow Rummel Village. All gifts of whatever type are welcomed and appreciated.

Cash - The most immediate benefits are derived from gifts of cash (or check). This is often the easiest contribution for a donor to make. Please make all checks payable to Dow Rummel Village.

Securities - A gift of securities (stocks, bonds, mutual funds) is another gift with immediate benefits. By donating the asset directly to Dow Rummel Village, a donor can avoid capital gains on the asset (or take the appropriate loss on your taxes) while still being able to deduct the current market value of the gift.

Real Estate/Property - Property, both real and personal, may be gifted to Dow Rummel Village. This gift will require an independent appraisal to determine the value.

"In-kind" Contributions - Gifts of this nature include building materials, equipment, supplies, labor and professional services.

Matching Gifts - If the company you work for or an organization you belong to matches gifts made to non-profit organizations, please acquire their matching gift form and apply. Dow Rummel Village will be happy to supply you with a determination letter.

Long Range Gift Planning - These gifts will benefit Dow Rummel in the future. The following planned gift options are available:

Will Bequests - Many people desire to leave gifts from their estate and do so through a will. If you wish to name Dow Rummel Village as a primary or contingent beneficiary, please use the following correct legal name "Dow Rummel Village, dba Rummel Memorial Home, Inc."

Life Insurance Policies - Gifts of fully paid life insurance policies are often made by elderly donors when these policies are no longer needed to protect the interests of family members if the insured dies. For this gift, the donor simply assigns the ownership of the insurance policy to Dow Rummel Village and names Dow Rummel as the beneficiary.

Charitable Annuities and Trusts - This type of gift allows the donor to benefit from the gift for their life. A significant cash gift or property gift made by the donor during his/her lifetime still allows direct benefits to the donor (income for his/her life) while providing a future benefit to Dow Rummel Village. This gift does require assistance of a qualified attorney and Dow Rummel annuity specialists.
