Margaret Carmody serves as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for the Washington Pavilion, the premier cultural institution for arts, science, and education in the Sioux Falls community. Carmody, who assumed the CSO role in 2023, is responsible for formulating, advancing, and communicating the organization’s strategy to ensure continued growth and success. 

Margaret previously served as an executive for Raven Industries, a publicly traded technology company. In her ten years with the company, her role expanded several times and included leadership over organizational culture, marketing, brand, internal and external communications, community & public relations, administrative services, and facilities. Under her leadership, Margaret led efforts to modernize the Raven brand, implemented transformational cultural strategies, and enhanced corporate communications across the organization. She also served as the Assistant Corporate Secretary for the corporation, supporting corporate governance matters and board and shareholder relations. She started her career working on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., serving in various capacities.  

She is actively involved in the Sioux Falls community. Besides serving on the Board of Trustees for Dow Rummel Village, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium Society. In 2022, she co-started Power Lunch – a program dedicated to helping 8th-grade girls reach their full potential through career and leadership exploration. Margaret holds a B.S. in Contemporary Media & Journalism and an Executive Master of Public Administration, both from the University of South Dakota.
