SIOUX FALLS, SD – Dow Rummel Village CEO, Darla Van Rosendale, is retiring this week after a successful career and 25 years with Dow Rummel. Van Rosendale announced her plans to retire back in February.

The Board of Trustees issued this statement: “We would not be where we are as a successful, leading independent senior living organization in the state of South Dakota without the leadership of Darla Van Rosendale. Darla has led the team to their current CMS 5-Star Rating and other achievements, including an American Health Care Association (AHCA) Bronze Quality Award and several national AHCA Quality Initiative awards. Over her tenure at Dow Rummel, the campus has grown by over 200%, adding four new services for the residents and certifying the nursing home as a Medicare and Medicaid facility. We thank her for her incredible leadership over the past 25 years serving 19 years as CEO and six years as CFO.”

“It has been an honor to work for Dow Rummel who has been a leader in senior living in Sioux Falls for 60 years,” says Van Rosendale. “I have been blessed to be able to work with so many great people these past 25 years serving our residents. Spending time with so many amazing people throughout these years has been the best part of my work and the part I will truly miss the most.”

Incoming CEO Josh Hofmeyer will take over CEO duties on April 28. Hofmeyer and Van Rosendale have worked together since late March to ensure a smooth leadership transition at Dow Rummel Village.

“I am humbled and honored to be stepping into the CEO role at Dow Rummel Village,” says Hofmeyer. “The reputation of this organization speaks for itself and the work Darla and her team have done over the 25+ years of her tenure is remarkable. I am fortunate to be able to step into this role with an organization that is stable during what many view as uncertain times. I look forward to continuing to move the Mission forward.”
