POSITION OVERVIEW:
Join our team as a Certified Dietary Manager, where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the clinical needs of residents in relation to dietary activities.
THE HOURS: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree from an accredited school
- CDM certification or in the process of obtaining
- 4-6 years of experience in the field, with at least 2 years of hands-on management experience
- Passion for educating staff and residents
- Previous experience instructing and teaching teams
- Ability to effectively communicate with residents and families about menus, meals, and nutritional information
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and creative in working with residents
- Ability to understand and follow task orientation, instructions, rules, and procedures
- Physical ability to push and pull 60 pounds, lift 50 pounds, and carry 15 pounds with two hands
- Servsafe certification required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model the values, mission, and vision of the organization
- Support the facility’s commitment to safe practices, infection control, and respect for residents’ rights
- Conduct initial nutritional assessments and screenings for residents
- Visit residents regularly, especially those at nutritional risk, and document all visits
- Coordinate dietary services with nursing service and activities
- Check diet orders against physicians’ orders and notify nursing of discrepancies
- Submit written reports to administration as necessary
- Plan and present in-service education programs for the Dietary Department
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Work with Dietary Consultant and Director of Food Service to achieve quality food service
- Maintain current Care Plans for each resident
- Monitor food intake of all residents and report problems to the Dietary Consultant and/or Director of Nursing
- Monitor dining rooms during mealtime to ensure diets are being maintained, residents’ preferences are respected, and staff provides quality service
- Understand and convey federal and state rules and regulations regarding nursing home dietary requirements, and enforce within the scope of the Dietary Department
- Perform other duties as assigned
