A custom living environment
Created to Lead a Life of Purpose
Having knowledge of how people who need extra assistance, Alzheimer’s or dementia experience the world helped us create a space that is a tool. With a space created just for them, people are able to live more peacefully, more securely and more socially in a world they can understand.

Circadian Lighting
Circadian lighting is used as a way to improve residents’ circadian rhythms, including more natural light, as well as adjusting lighting throughout the day to mimic the natural progression of day (cooler, bright light) into night (warmer, dim light) to help with sundowning.

Personalized Room Entry
Objects tend to trigger memories for residents, and we’ve implemented hutches outside of resident rooms. These objects can be comforting to the person while helping them create a connection between their objects and their home. It also allows our staff to get to know the resident on a more personal level.

Open Kitchen Concept
Kitchens are the heart of nearly every home. Open kitchens that allow residents to observe and engagement in the meal prep process can actually be a form of therapy in memory recollection. The simple smell of cookies baking can create a homelike atmosphere that can positively impact both residents and staff.

Secure Outdoor Courtyard
Our secure outdoor courtyard is in the center of our Memory Care and Enhanced Assited Living. This space is vital because it can reduce agitation and frustration, relieve stress and improve physical fitness. The walking path is in a continuous figure eight pattern back to building entrances and has heated concrete for residents to enjoy it most of the year.

Sensory Stimulation
Senstory stimulation is used strategically to arouse one or more of the five senses (hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch), to evoke positive feelings. This can help resdidents feel safe and relax and may improve their mood, self-esteem and well-being. Our sensory stimulation room includes a bubble wall, light therapy, touch therapy, music therapy, and aromatherapy.

Active and Quiet Spaces
Many Alzheimer’s and dementia patients find comfort in performing the daily activities they performed when younger. Many of the areas around our Memory Care give the resident’s purpose and comfort including: a boutique, library, office area, diner, laundromat, Five & Dime Store, wellness area and hobby room.
